architecture portfolio“On a Spanish Mission”

The owner of this house acted as his own general contractor. His fondness for the project is evident in the finished product. The original house, loosely “Spanish” in style, was situated on the lot such that our addition could sit in front and on top. We turned on the charm outside with historically-inspired Spanish Mission Revival details: an arcaded porch, eave brackets, wrought iron balcony railings, a colorful tile roof, custom pre-cast concrete details, a soft stucco finish and matching detached garage. Inside, the main floor contains the formal- and family-living spaces and a home office. The light-filled stair hall leads up to the new second floor with four bedrooms (each with its own French balcony) and two baths.
