“Gracious in Grand County”

It’s counter-intuitive, but the trick to capturing the perfect view from this sloping site was to move the house down the hill. A weekend getaway for a family of six from Denver, this new house sits at the base of the hill with a postcard-perfect, surprisingly intimate view of Lake Granby. Strategically-located windows throughout the house frame and define views as vignettes to be savored. Two bedrooms and a bathroom share the main floor with the great room. 18-foot tall wood paneled ceilings and a bright red enamel gas stove in this space are overlooked by a large, carpeted sleeping loft.  A large game room and another bath share the lower level with the garage and increase the house’s sleeping capacity to sixteen (!) overnight guests.
