“Downtown Loft”
This conversion of a rustic downtown Denver loft into the client’s sophisticated, urbane vision was completed with Lynn Shannon as interior designer and Mike Maddy Construction.
A new black walnut staircase was conceived as a series of floating solid blocks; glass railings enhance the visual connection between spaces.
The entire fireplace/entertainment center wall was reconfigured in an abstract arrangement of solids and voids. Envisioned as a contemporary interpretation of a paneled wall, custom cherry cabinets with walnut highlights open to reveal the television. Niches and ledges exhibit the owner’s art. A “ribbon” fireplace makes a statement about contemporary form & function: no faux log-set here. A sleek concrete hearth and complementary tile surround provide additional color and texture.
Lighting and finishes throughout the loft were replaced and updated. Comfortable new furnishings, custom rugs and the owner’s art collection complete this vision of “Manhattan in the Mountains”.
